北京奥运经济研究会和北京古玉标本研究中心联合编著的中英文对照奥运知识丛书《中国古玉精选图录》2008年北京奥运会期间，该书将作为国礼赠送给世界各国政要和体育代表团。

　　本书主编、北京市古玉标本研究中心主任王震介绍，“玉文化”是中国文化有别于世界其他文明的显著特点。《中国古玉精选图录》历时3年编著完成，全书配有精品古玉图片108张，文字5万多字。书中甄选了从上古时期的新石器时代到中国汉代的108件古玉标本玉器，均为各朝代盛典时重要的皇家礼仪重器，每一件都见证了远古人类及王权阶级祭祀山川日月和重大国事活动中特殊的历史瞬间，彰显着那个时代政治、文化、经济和社会生活的精神内涵，具有特殊的历史价值和研究价值。

　　《中国古玉精选图录》在装帧上参照装饰美玉的最高等级“金镶玉”，采用了成本高、工艺复杂、世所罕见的“全版印金，封金口”手法，即每一页都均匀印金，印金的纸面上是美玉图片，被称为“金包玉”。

  Dating back to prehistoric times in China, processed jade articles contain elementsof traditional Chinese culture. This catalogue presents pictures of over onehundred fine jade articles with comprehensive written introduction to the uniquejade-related culture of China. The illustrated objects include the prehistoric piecesfound in Hongshan and Liangzhu, exquisitely carved jade articles for religiouspurpose from 16th century to 8th century BC, and finely processed jade pieces ingrand forms from 2nd century BC to AD 2nd century.In summer 2008, all emblems and medals used in the Beijing Olympic Gamesare decorated with Chinese jade. As a title of the series for the Games, all copiesof this catalogue were contributed to the Beijing Organization Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad. The publisher asked the renowned artist ZhangShouyi to create a bookplate for collectors of this catalogue, each plate manually printed on a manually carved block, and manually signed by the artist, which greatly augments the value of the book as an item of the readers’ collection.
